The copy on the left is signed by L’Engle on the title page (pictured below), with tight, clean textblock. Unclipped jacket showing original price of $12.95, no tears or rubbing. 

The copy on the right is also a first edition, but is not signed. The dust jacket has the ghost imprint of a sticker to the front, and price clipped. An inscription on the inside reads "To my perfect son Dan the Man Love Mommy". 

Many Waters is part of the Time Quintet series by Madeline L'Engle. This title being the fourth in the series, taking place after A Swiftly Tilting Planet and preceding An Acceptable Time.
